The Wines
At Montecarrubo, every wine begins with the vineyard.
Different soils, different sites and different grape varieties are treated individually, allowing each wine to retain a clear sense of origin. Fermentations are carried out with indigenous yeasts, intervention in the cellar is kept measured, and used French oak is employed to support rather than overshadow the character of the fruit and the land.
The result is a collection defined by freshness, precision and a distinctly Mediterranean identity.
Three vineyards. Individual expressions.
At the heart of Montecarrubo are Quattro Venti, Vigna Grande and Vignolo.
Each vineyard has its own soil composition and aromatic identity. The grapes from each site are harvested and vinified separately every year, preserving the individual character of each vineyard and allowing the differences between them to emerge naturally in the wines.
For Vigna Grande and Vignolo, Syrah has a particularly important role. Both were originally planted in 2010 from massal selections originating in Hermitage, yet their different soils give rise to markedly different expressions.
Vignolo Bianco
Pure, vibrant and naturally expressive.
Made from 100% organic Grillo, Vignolo Bianco is fermented with natural yeasts, with minimal sulphur and no filtration.
A restrained approach in the cellar preserves the wine’s natural energy and clarity, allowing the character of the grape and its Sicilian origin to remain at the forefront.

Vignolo
Freshness. Salinity. Elegance.
Vignolo is a single-vineyard Syrah grown on an east-facing site characterised by volcanic sand and abundant marine fossils.
Intense black fruit meets green pepper, thyme and fresh spice, while fine tannins and pronounced savouriness create a wine of precision, verticality and persistence.
